The Havering Black and Minority Ethnic Group exist to achieve the following:

• Promoting equality of opportunity and good race relations between persons of different racial and ethnic groups.

• Providing and maintaining resources for the ethnic minority voluntary sector, including  training, advice and support.

• Facilitating partnership and co-operation in the voluntary sector.

• Being a focal point for service providers and departments within the Council, when they wish to consult about their services.

• We engage with other groups and New Communities in Havering to assist in creating their own organisation and engagement with other groups and the statutory bodies.
